The Stacks — Boston Stacks Up at the Balance Patch Cafe

Last weekend, the Boston Stack decided to try something new for a monthly event. With the opening of the Boston area’s first video game cafe, Co-Lead Hyperion organized a get-together for the Stack to get to know the managers, and to have a little gaming fun! Right across the street from the Babcock Street Green Line stop, the Balance Patch Cafe has over 50 desktops with access to hundreds of single and multiplayer titles from Pacman to PUBG. The cafe also has two VR sets, a

    Overwatch Introduces New Hero Orisa

After a few weeks of scattered information and red herrings (which feels very brief compared to Sombra’s introduction), Blizzard introduced the 24th hero to Overwatch. Orisa is an omnic retooled and reworked by the young prodigy, Efi, who has been central to the aforementioned red herrings. A developer update from director Jeff Kaplan details a tiny bit of her backstory, and more importantly, what she actually can do. On first glance, the things Orisa is capable of makes your

Overwatch Starts Hinting at New Hero

Overwatch’s 24th hero is on the horizon, and we’re already starting to see Blizzard’s hype machine revving up. After Ana and Sombra’s drip-feed leading to their respective launches, we figured that the next heroes would undergo the same fate. We don’t even know who the hero is, but Blizzard is starting to drop hints and divert attention already. Inventor Efi Oladele is an 11-year-old girl from Numbani, and is a driving force in robotics and artificial intelligence. The way th

    overwatch overview june 23rd

Hey, guys, we are back at it again! Looks like we are still waiting for the patch update from Blizzard that enables competitive gameplay. Currently, it looks like they are almost at the point of implementation due to their focus on their Public Test Region (PTR) with the windows PC players. In the PTR oven is the next patch we are waiting for which includes the competitive gameplay function. If you want to participate in this future patch or other future Overwatch patches you

overwatch overview 2 not high noon

This week in Overwatch, the patch that was talked about last week was implemented. Yup, that’s right, the one about the nerf bat on McCree. This patch made the first attempt at making the heroes a little bit more balanced. Basically, this patch reduced McCree’s alternate fire damage by 25 per shot. This allows the tank classes to be just that, not being allowed to be one shotted by an alternate ability. To our surprise, there was a change made to Widowmaker as well. At times,

    overwatch overview june 9th

We are back at it again with another update with an Overwatch overview. First off, we have this week’s Brawl reset and it is definitely going to make players mix up and get to know all the characters of overwatch. The title is called “Mystery Heros” and the rules are two simple steps – respawn as a random hero, and no hero switching. If you are still trying to find the hero that fits your type of playstyle then this gamemode will help push you outside your normal selections.

    overwatch shimada bros

Welcome back to another week of adventures in the Blizzard world of Overwatch. Last week during the weekly brawl it was almost like a mayhem of abilities going off due to the nature of the event. It was a very fast game mode with ultimates and abilities going off left and right non-stop. I’m sure most of us are still fearing Mei during any escort mission since she had a tendency to slow all the battles to a dead cold stop. As we are all patiently waiting for the new ranked co

    overwatch first week

The day has finally come, Blizzard has released and finally opened it’s Overwatch servers. Blizzard originally announced this game at Blizzcon two years ago, which expanded their games into a new genre for them. This is their first hack at a First Person Shooter (FPS) and they have done a solid job from cinematic to level design and as always full detail in all of their operations. Overwatch has several different game modes to choose from in the Play menu. Currently, there ar

    blizzcon experience part 2

Getting prepared for day two of the BlizzCon adventure had my mind racing with what I should make my priority to watch/do today. Upon getting to the Anaheim Convention Center again, there was a massive flooding of Blizzard fans just waiting to get inside the building for their second day of adventures. Again, it seemed as if most people hurried for something in particular they wanted to get done without having to worry about standing in a massive line. For us, it was being in

    my blizzcon experience part 1

The moment I left my home to get on a plane to Anaheim, California, I started to get an incredible burst of excitement. It was so intense and hard to sit still during the 2-hour flight! The shuttle ride from the airport was packed with anxious fans who could hardly wait to grab their goodie bags and badges. Then, I was able to see the huge building with my own eyes. That is when fantasy finally turned into reality for me; I was actually at BlizzCon!! Even though it was the da
