​COMMUNITY MANAGER​

​​Stack Up (StackUp.org)


Salary: $32,000 or State Min Wage
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Remote
Focus: Veteran Support, Mental Health, Gaming Community Engagement


 

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and highly organized Community Manager to oversee the daily operations and engagement strategies within our veteran-focused gaming community. This role is critical in maintaining the digital infrastructure, fostering inclusive and safe interactions, coordinating game nights, managing volunteers, and upholding Stack Up’s mission of providing mental health support through gaming.



 

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Support

  • Act as a point-of-contact for DMs, community questions, and contact form inquiries, with a special focus on mental health-related topics and veteran support.

  • Monitor and support the Overwatch program (peer-to-peer support), collaborating on metrics and moderator coverage.

  • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and safe digital environment across all platforms (Discord, forums, etc.).


Stacks Program Oversight

  • Coordinate with local Stacks teams:

    • Review and onboard volunteers from website forms.

    • Track volunteer activity, event participation, and community impact.

  • Support Stacks-related fundraising, onboarding, and rewards fulfillment.

  • Serve as a liaison for local volunteer questions via the contact form and Discord.


Mental Health Game Night Coordination & Game Lead Management

  • Schedule and coordinate regular Mental Health Game Nights, ensuring accessibility for our community across time zones.

  • Oversee the Game Lead program:

    • Use and maintain website forms for onboarding/training Game Leads.

    • Track Game Lead performance, engagement, and post-event AAR (After Action Report) responses.

    • Maintain shared documentation.


Community Server Management

  • Manage and monitor active and legacy game servers across multiple platforms.

  • Coordinate with admin teams on incoming server-related emails.

  • Ensure uptime, game accessibility, and timely server renewals or troubleshooting.
     

Code Distribution & Tracking

  • Manage distribution of digital community reward codes (games, DLC, etc.).

  • Maintain audit tracking sheets: log inventory, track donations, and hyperlink screenshots to recipient names.

  • Provide documentation and inventory updates to the admin for each donation.

Preferred Qualifications
 

  • Prior experience in community management, volunteer coordination, or event planning.

  • Familiarity with game server hosting platforms (e.g., G-Portal, Nitrado, HostHavoc).

  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Forms, Docs) and Discord moderation tools.

  • Demonstrated commitment to veteran mental health, peer support, or nonprofit work.

  • Comfortable handling sensitive topics with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
