Phalanx House Manager 

 

Salary

$31,200 annually

 

Job Description and Duties: 

 

The Stack Up Phalanx House is a bespoke community center designed to provide a new and unique way for veterans to connect with peers and find access to support and resources. As such, the Phalanx House Manager is also a unique position, balancing the needs of managing a small office alongside those of a recreation/LAN center.

The Phalanx House Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Phalanx House including, but not limited to, cleaning/light maintenance, inventory ordering/management, and maintaining billing records for utilities and expenses. 

The Phalanx House Manager will also be functioning as a liaison between the Phalanx House, and other Veteran Service Organizations or Individual Veterans that the Phalanx House will serve. The Phalanx House Manager will work with Stack Up Leadership and Stack Up partners to plan and execute events at the Phalanx House. This will include providing transportation of veterans via the Stack Up Van, seeing to the needs of veterans attending events, keeping and tracking attendance, and providing after-action reports for completed events. As part of these duties, the Phalanx House Manager must be knowledgeable about the range of services available in the community and develop and maintain relationships with partners to deliver a comprehensive array of services to clients.

Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends.

 

Qualifications and Position Requirements: 

 

Must have a passion to work and connect in Veteran-related areas. Knowledge of gaming/geek culture is a plus. Requires a high level of customer service with the ability to multitask. Must have demonstrable experience communicating positively and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Skills in facilitating groups and working with a diverse population, as well as fluency in Google Suite and other relevant software are required.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions 

 

Office or Rec Center environment in a fast-paced setting. Must be able to lift 50lbs with a fair amount of sitting, answering telephones, and movement within the house and property. 

Requires traveling to employer location in Van Nuys, CA, and client work sites. Will be required to work some evenings and/or weekends. 

 

Education

 

High School Diploma, or equivalent. Prior Military Experience is preferred, but not required.
