Stack Up's mission brings together both veterans and civilian supporters together through a shared love of video gaming.
With the motto “Veterans are our Mission. Gaming is our Passion”, we welcome veterans and civilians who connect with that mission and want to help further it.
The Stack Up mission is brought to life through the people in our community who volunteer their time, talents, and efforts to make the lives of those who have served better. The Stacks unite veterans and civilians to host a variety of events, from group game nights to community betterment projects, to bring about positive change in the places in which they live.
The Stacks Program gives volunteers the opportunity to develop a range of skills, such as public speaking, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, adaptability, planning and prioritizing work, and more while impacting their community in a fun and positive way.
WHAT IS A ‘STACK?’
The Stacks are teams of local volunteers around the globe who use gaming and other activities to connect to their communities in order to create welcoming and supportive environments for veterans. We have Stacks in a variety of major cities - not only in the US, but in the UK, New Zealand, and expanding around the world!
First, take a look at the map to see if there is a Stack in your area. If there is, fill out the Volunteer Member form below to join and get on board.
If there isn’t a Stack near you, and you’d like to work with us to establish one, fill out the Volunteer Lead Position Application below and our Stacks Program Manager will be in touch.
Okay, I came here to help troops and have fun! How do I do that?
You’re only limited by your imagination. Want to go grab BBQ with your team after volunteering at a homeless veteran shelter? Have an awareness-raising campaign outside your local game store while waiting on the next Call of Duty midnight release? Just talk with the rest of your team, figure out what you want to do, and go do it!
Read our Volunteer Bill of Rights and Responsibilities here.
We have locations across the United States, New Zealand, and the UK. We are expanding further into other areas all the time! If there isn’t a stack in your area now, then maybe you’re just the person to get one started where you live!
