Other times, one event is not enough and you need a stack of Stack-Up, and on April 16, 2016, the California Stacks are ready to deliver a stack of Stack-Up Stack events. They have tried to think of some clever names for this rally, like Stacktopia, Stackopolis, or Stackpril, but they were all pretty terrible — and were all created by CA Director, Bryan “Beardo” Parent, so blame him. Bet you want to know where all these cornucopias of Stack-Up goodness be taking place in Cali

the stacks seattle stack gathers to raise money and have fun

March 31, 2016, a Subaru pulls up to the Collective on Tap, Stack Leader Josh “ffffumbles” Fulmer’s place of employment and a super awesome tap house in Woodinville, WA. The contents of that Subaru? Mrs. Fulmer and her friend, Paula, bringing in an extra TV and Xbox One for the first Nerd Night at the Collective. After unloading the car, the Seattle Stack took over one of the bar’s TVs and posted up our extra one to accommodate the Wii U that one of the owners brought in for

the stacks pittsburgh stack hikes for pizza

On March 26, 2016 The Pittsburgh Stack gathered for a day in the sun to celebrate spring in the city. To kick off the day, members met at the bottom of the Mononcahela Incline, a transportation service that pulls a cable type car up a steep incline. There used to be quite a few of the old contraptions around the city as it was the swiftest route to the top of the mountain. However, today there are only two of these inclines in operation in Pittsburg, but they are both used ac

On Saturday, March 26, 2016, the Dallas Stack hosted their first group meet-up at CiCi’s Pizza. Members had the chance to get to know each other, eat some pizza, and play some Smash Bros. on the Wii U. It was a successful event with nine members in attendance. The Dallas Stack looks forward to their next event and will be looking for a larger venue, hoping to bring in an even bigger turnout. More information on the Stacks and the Dallas Stack can be found at Stack-Up.Org. #su

Do you like video games? Do you think the active duty, retirees, and veterans of our armed forces are pretty awesome? If so, then we have a night for you! Collective on Tap is proud to be a fundraising partner for Stack-Up by bringing people in to enjoy some delicious beer while supporting an awesome cause! Josh Fulmer, Seattle Stack Leader, will be bringing a Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo (assuming he can find it), and an Xbox One! The plan is to play some games and maybe even

On Saturday, March 19, 2016, the Houston Stack met at Neil’s Bahr in Houston, Texas. This divey little joint was packed with all the nerdy, gamer essentials! It was a great meet up where future events, and PAX East was discussed. After the business was concluded, members grabbed a couple of board games and hunkered down for some serious fun! Apples to Apples was the first game up. A seemingly more tame version of Cards Against Humanity but no less fun. Stack members had a cha

On March 10, 2016 the Chicago Stack met up at the Ignite Gaming Lounge in Chicago. The event was a success with good people and good fun while helping our troops. The meet up began with a planning session in the studio to talk about the future ideas and plans for this year for Stack-Up in the Chicagoland area. Events mentioned were C2E2 in late March and the Walker Stalker Convention in May. After that members logged into multiple video games and just had a blast. Street Figh

Deep in the pine barrens of Jackson, New Jersey lies a powerful and highly advanced military fortress. Combining some of the most integral parts of the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard is the joint base McGuire AFB-Fort Dix-Lakehurst NAS or JB MDL for short. Responsible for joint operations along the East Coast, JB MDL is a strategic installation for America’s armed forces.  The base was merged in October 2005 and is the only military base in the

The San Antonio Stack is currently a small group with incredible aspirations to grow its membership and begin work that can really impact the extremely large veteran community of San Antonio and surrounding area. The greatest of aspirations always begin with the first step. The first step for the San Antonio Stack was accomplished March 13, 2016, at Buffalo Wild Wings near Lackland Air Force Base. The event was coordinated by Ben Cloutier and Angie Huynh, who recruited severa

LA Stack Special Preview of the Unknowns

The Stacks Los Angeles is a community of Angelenos, and as such, some of our activities are the things I put in the category of “Only in LA”. Our friends at IAVA gave us the incredible opportunity to watch a screening of ‘The Unknowns‘ at the New York Film Academy’s screening room on the Warner Brothers lot. The documentary detailed the amazingly dedicated soldiers who guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. These soldiers constantly push themselves to their mental and physica
