The Stacks – Queens Stacks Up with the American Legion

The Stacks – Stacking Up with Mission Continues and the American Legion

by: Ethan Whinston

For the second straight week, the Queens Chapter of The Stacks participated in a service event with The Mission Continues (TMC). You can click on the link to find out more about their work. This time they were at the American Legion Post in Weehawken, NJ, helping with restoration.

In recent years, the post had fallen into disrepair. But its new leadership is trying to reestablish and refurbish it. To that end, a group of representatives from The Mission Continues descended on it to clean and repaint it, haul away trash, and do whatever else needed to be done. Afterwards? Pizza, soda, and pastries for the hungry crew.

The leadership of the Post is hoping to reopen in the spring, and have offered to let the Queens Stack host events at their location. We look forward to working with them in the future.

If you would like to get involved and are in the New York area hit up the Queens Stack HERE! Not in the area, no worries we have chapters of The Stacks all over the country, hit this LINK to find out more and Stack Up for Veterans in your town!
