Air Force Veteran Shawn requested a Supply Crate because after suffering a major back injury in the Military, he has difficulty sitting at his computer to play video games.

Hello, --- --- My name Shawn. I joined the Air Force in March of 1999. My plan was to only do 4 years and get out, but life had another path for me. So I reenlisted for 6 more years. Unfortunately in 2005, while TDY, I suffered a major back injury while performing my normal duties. I was sent home and it felt like the longest flight due to the extreme back pain I was in. I leaned that I had completely blew out my L4-L5 disc in my back. I had to have back surgery and it had to be done quickly. I recovered and returned back to normal duty only to re-injury that same disc. So I had yet another surgery to fuse the vertebrae. I recovered from that and was fine until 2016 when I was pushing an C130 ISO stand down the road with 3 other troops helping. I felt a pop and a onset of extreme pain. I knew this pain all too well. I went to the doctor and they did a MRI, only to find out that I blew out L5-S1 disc. This was the start of having surgery after surgery after surgery. But I still recovered from all of them, only to find out that I was going to be Medically Retired at 19yr 1m and 28 days. Because I didn't make it to 20 yrs, I am not eligible to receive CRDP. So I left the Air Force in May of 2018. Later on in 2018 I underwent yet another back surgery to implant a spinal cord stimulator, and then a second attempt to fuse L5-S1. This time it was successful and I recovered yet again. Unfortunately in my back had other plans for me and now my L3-L4 disc had blown out. So I underwent my 9th back surgery to fuse that vertebrae. Unfortunately the fusion failed due to an staph infection that traveled up from my drain line and infected all of my lower back. So back in for my 10th surgery to open me back up to clean and flush out all the infection. I didn't recover this time and one month later I was back in surgery just to find out that they had to do another flush and clean out due to the infection getting into the bone and started to eat it away. So after a few months of taking antibiotics everyday for 4 months straight, I underwent my 12th surgery on March 10, 2020, where the successful fused my L3-L4 vertebrae. I finally recovered from that. Now everything was all good to go for me. I was fishing, playing on my computer, life was good. That was until I started to feel some of that fusion hardware start to snap, crackle, pop. --- I knew I was in trouble and would have to have yet another surgery, making this my 13th. They had to remove everything and replace it with new hardware, but also extend my fusion all the way to T12. This brings us to today. I am still in the recovery process. --- --- Now for my request. I currently am not able to play on my computer due to having to lay in bed while I recover. I used my computer as a way of reducing my stress levels. It also helps me not feel all my back pains while I am playing. So that's why I am requesting a Supply-Crate.
A console is a great way to lay back and relax while gaming! Whether it's in bed on an inclined surface or on the couch, gaming comfortably is very important for those physical aches and pain. We know how much gaming can take the mind off things, so we sent a brand new PlayStation 5 to Shawn in the hopes it can provide him much-needed relief.

To the Stack up crew,
THANK YOU.
Thank you all so.very much for the gear, I know that I get the most out of the PS5 and everything else that come with the crate. Just knowing that there are people like Stack Up along with the streamers like AlynntheYellowEyed and many more out there take their personal time to help fund these supply crates. You all have made my year. After having to have nonstop back surgeries and pretty much loosing the ability to pretty much do anything besides play on my computer, and now thanks to you all, play on my PS5.
Thank you all so very much.
We're just glad we can help you enjoy yourself after serving, Shawn.
