The Stacks – Queens Stacks Up for the Reopening of Weehawken American Legion Post 18

The Queens Chapter of The Stacks

by: Ethan Whinston

Following up on its prior work with the Weehawken American Legion Hall 18, the Queens chapter of The Stacks attended the Hall’s grand reopening over Memorial Day Weekend. The event was the culmination of a lot of hard work on the part of many individuals and groups.

Colonel (retired) Jeff Cantor gave a keynote speech, as did others such as Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner. The Queens Stack was one of the groups specifically named and called up to the dais to be honored and was given a framed certificate of appreciation for its hard work.

The Queens Stack is continuing to partner with this Hall and is discussing plans for a family day during the summer. At that, there will be an outdoor movie screening, and the Queens Stack will be providing video games.
