It's been a busy year for our Stacks! Our Stacks volunteers have been doing their best to continue holding regular events from local game nights to in-person fundraising at charity nights at local businesses.

In this update, we're sharing the efforts of the Indy Stack and Holloman Air Force Base Stack who have both continued to work consistently to host events even as obstacles come up.

Indianapolis, IN | October 30, 2025 | Trunk or Treat

Indy Stack got out to a local Trunk or Treat and in the process of passing out candy, some Veteran families showed interest in Stack Up and our mission. What great outreach!

The Indianapolis Stack participated in a Trunk or Treat at Avon Community Schools. No obstacles for this event. This was a small way to give back to the community. We had several of the parents that are veterans show interest in Stack Up.

Holloman AFB | November 5, 2025

Holloman Air Force Base Stack has been our most consistent Stack for years, continuing to hold regular tabletop gaming events even as they have faced obstacles hosting at their usual spot.

Game Night!
We gathered with a smaller crowd than normal. 5 players is right in the pocket for the ideal board game night though! We kicked the night off trying to figure out which mouse stole the cheese! Cheese thief is a great, light social deduction game. Nate has replaced the stock game pieces with some of his own, but the rules remain the same. Find the thief! In this case, Trevor!
After that, we started building our towns with Machi Koro, a great dice roller with varying results based on your town's construction! Trevor yet again just ruined the game by constructing buildings that punished other players and completely knocked them out of the game!

Indianapolis, IN | November 11, 2025 | YMCA Veterans Breakfast

Indy Stack regularly holds tabletop gaming days but they also like to branch out and go to local tabletop and Veterans events. In November, Indy Stack made it out to the YMCA for their Veterans Day breakfast to represent and spread the word about Stack Up!

For Veterans Day, we joined the Greater Indianapolis YMCA at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA location in Avon, Indiana for their Veterans Day breakfast. We were able to set up a table and meet other veterans in the area and spread the word about Stack Up.
Having events take place during business hours on work days is always a struggle to get participation. Fortunately, I was able to take time off work to volunteer my time for this event.

Thank you to our Stack Leads for continuing to hold events throughout 2025. Thank you to those who show up to the events and represent Stack Up to the best of their abilities.

Stack Up has a new Community Manager on staff. She's currently settling in, but once she's got her feet under her and she's ready, she'll be taking on those new volunteer applications so if you're looking to start a Stack in 2026, get ready and get signed up!
