Our Stacks have been keeping busy with plenty of activities. The Holloman Air Force Base and Indy Stacks, in particular, have been keeping their Stacks active with both tabletop game nights and local volunteering!
We're glad to see our redshirts putting themselves out there to spread the word and community feel-goods of Stack Up and our mission.
With that said, here are the highlights from March and April.

Holloman AFB | March 5, 2025
Tonight was our weekly board game night! The Community Center is actually going to go through construction to have the flooring replaced. However, they’re so happy about our use of the space, that they’re opening up their conference rooms for us, which they normally have to charge. This week, we had myself, Blake, Latoya, Diane, Rose Trevor, Carlos, Gaia, Jeremiah, and Edward.
This week, Edward brought in Munchkin. Sadly, it ended in exactly the same way it always does. Everyone piled on me to keep me from winning so that Trevor, the next player, could win! I swear I’m not allowed to win at Munchkin! (Don’t discuss this is Diety, he might still have feelings about how I play the game).
Yet again, another successful game night for the Holloman Stack. While this week was pretty standard, it’s something to be proud of! Jeremiah has a place to stay thanks to Trevor, and everyone is doing great! We’re playing more and more great games, and hopefully we continue to grow over the year!

Meet up between Chicago Stack Lead and Indy Stack Lead. Had dinner, went to a bar that was holding a charity event, and we spoke about various Stack Up topics and how we want to improve the Stacks experience.
Michael Stern

This was a joint stack event between Indianapolis and Chicago; I was in town traveling for work, so I had reached out to our Chicago stack lead, @Awanderingjew (Michael Stearns) and tried to schedule time to meet up, share a meal, and see what was available to give back to the community. Michael shared that there was a charity event Little Friends Fun Club happening at Hizemans Bar in Naperville.
Little Friends Fun Club is an organization supporting persons with autism and developmental disabilities.
We decided on this event as it was a chance for Indianapolis and Chicago to get together and try to do something good for the community and have some inter-stack collaboration. We used this time to discuss upcoming opportunities in both Indianapolis and Chicago, as well as methods we could use to grow the local communities.

Yes, I think the event was successful. We have plans for further collaboration between the two stacks, specifically at GenCon in Indianapolis in July/August 2025 and DJ joining the Chicago stack for special game days the next time I’m in town.
I really enjoy getting to go see other Stacks to see how they’re doing and sharing the ideas of what I think has made the Indy stack successful as well as picking up ideas for what we could do. I look forward to collaborating with other stacks as well.

This stacks event was a local gaming conference in Indianapolis by the Who's Yer Gamers called WhosYerCon. It was held at a Marriot Hotel and Convention center in the city. Darren (@solidDJ) and DJ (@d4rthdelirium) met up with DJ's kids for their first conference. This conference is an annual event.
The reason for attendance this year was twofold, first I wanted to attend this year to see if it would be valuable for Stackup to get a table in their community section in 2026. And the second reason was to get another opportunity to bring the local veteran gaming community together in a low-cost gaming convention that isn't as intimidating (or as expensive) as GenCon.
We met with the local Irreverent Warrior leader for Indianapolis and talked to them about how our groups intersect within the gaming community and built some contacts within the local organization.
There were no obstacles, other than this was not a free event for attendees, but it was very low cost for a single day ticket ($10). There were plenty of opportunities to play games with others from around the Indianapolis area as well.
I do believe this was a successful event - I believe that it would be valuable to have a community table, or even have games hosted by local Stackup members at this conference.
