Army Veteran Travis requested a Supply Crate so he could get a new console after having to sell off his previous systems and games in order to make ends meet.
I spent nearly 7.5 years active duty Army as a 15T Blackhawk repairer and crew chief. I spent a year in Korea all while Kim JongUn was doing a bunch of crazy military testing and such. I also spent over nine months in Afghanistan living the deployment life. I had finished my career in Hunter Army Airfield after being medically retired. I received many physical disabilities due to my service and also PTSD. My PTSD has gotten the best of me many times along with my physical restraints. The combination of the two cause even more emotional responses and they’re not good ones. On more than I can count occasions video games have recentered me. I had gotten to reconnect with friends from all over the world and speak about the good old days. One case in particular saved my life and I’m sure it probably saved my buddy on the other end too. We had both been going through a pretty hectic time mentally and emotionally but there was moment in the game that triggered me to have an audible reaction and he had made a joke, albeit a dark joke, and it had for just a split second caused me to spiral until the joke set in and I actually thought it was hilarious. We began discussing what caused me to react and it just went off from there and before we knew it, there were tears and I love yous being thrown out. But this time in the good way. I’ve come to notice, video games are an easier way to connect with those that aren’t nearby even more so than cell phones. There’s so many times that I feel it’s a chore to be on my phone or there’s so many other factors on the phone that can increase the negative feelings I could be having in the moment. But when I’m gaming with my friends, that’s all that matters in the moment. My focus is there and us trying to accomplish our mission. Not on something that wants to drag me into the darkness. With that, unfortunately I got let go of my job due to my disabilities and even though I get paid disability benefits, they’re not enough to keep up with the lifestyle I previously had. So I had to sell off quite a bit of items including my Xbox, PlayStation, and games just to have some extra cash in my pocket until I could get in somewhere else. I’ve been able to get a cheap tv and internet but I haven’t been able to justify the cost of a video game console again. I feel as though being able to have that connection with my friends again and that mental release from everything else again would be beneficial to my continued growth and I would be eternally grateful for such an amazing gesture. It sounds silly to some but it would be life changing for me.
We're sorry Travis had to give up his gaming consoles, especially when it's something that has helped him. We understand how much of a difference gaming can make but also get it when a Veteran needs to make ends meet. Thankfully, we're able to help with that by sending out a new console and games to make up for it!

I want to extend my greatest gratitude to Stack Up and the donors, specifically my donor, Allypandapants! It means the world to me and my family.
Being able to just have the games to decompress after a long day or to better connect with my family, is just incredible and I’m beyond grateful for the generosity. I can’t even put into words how amazing yall are!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
You're very welcome, Travis.
