Marine Corps Veteran Ji reached out to Stack Up about getting a console because he has struggled with his PTSD and TBI and feeling isolated.
I’m a United States Marine Corps Purple Heart recipient and disabled veteran living with PTSD and a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since leaving the service, I’ve struggled deeply with my mental health. I’ve had suicidal thoughts, I take multiple medications, and I currently receive mental health treatment twice a week. Even with all of that support, I often feel isolated and alone and at times, I feel weak for not being able to shake that feeling.------What I miss most from my time in the Marine Corps is the sense of brotherhood and connection. Civilian life can feel like a different world. One where people don’t always understand what it’s like to carry the things we carry. Gaming has shown me it can be a powerful outlet, a way to focus my mind, find moments of peace, and, most importantly, reconnect with others who’ve walked a similar path.------Right now, I don’t own a console or any games, so I don’t have access to that outlet. Receiving a Supply Crate would give me more than just gear. it would give me a way to combat isolation, rebuild a sense of purpose, and stay connected to a community that understands me. It would be a major step toward healing and hope.------Thank you for considering my story. I’m ready to take the next step, not just for myself, but so I can someday help others who feel like I do. I want to be connected again. I want to feel like I’m part of a team.
One of the hardest parts of struggling with PTSD and TBIs are that their symptoms often make it more difficult for those suffering with them to connect with others. It sounds like in Ji's case, he could really use something that can distract himself and allow him to game with others and hopefully, make some connections through gaming.

Hello,
I just wanted to tell you that,
gaming gave me a controlled space where I could calm my mind and manage stress without pressure from the outside world. It helped me stay focused, and rebuild cognitive skills affected by the TBI. The routine playing made it easier to cope with PTSD symptoms, and the sense of progress in games helped restore confidence during a time when daily life felt unpredictable.
Thank you so much to the donor and the Stack Up team for making this happen for me. I can't thank enough.

Thanks, Ji. We hope the games and console continue to help you for years to come.
