Army Veteran Erik requested a Supply Crate because he wanted a console so he could game with an old friend.

My name is Erik. I am married and have two children, 13 and 9. I am a retired US Army 1SG who spent 22 years on Active Duty as a 19K/Z, Armor Crewman. During my 22 years, I was stationed in Fort Riley; Schweinfurt, Germany; Fort Knox, Fort Carson, Fort Shafter, Fort Irwin, and the University of Illinois at Chicago ROTC. I have been deployed to Kuwait, Kosovo, 2x Iraq, and Afghanistan. During my second deployment to Iraq (06-08), assigned to 1-26 Infantry, during the surge, I was wounded multiple times. I was shot by a sniper and was struck with a road side bomb. Both incident's' occurring in Baghdad. More importantly, and when looking at the big picture, the deployment was very tough on everyone. I was able to cope with the stresses while deployed and once I returned home because I had a support team of Soldiers that I could always talk to. Due to my current location, I do not have the same opportunity. I'm requesting a supply create because I recently connected with an Army friend who lives in Tennessee, and loves playing video games. We were together at multiple duty stations and combat deployments. He's asked if I can get a console so that we could play and chat while doing so. He also told me that playing video games is a great way to connect with other Veterans. I recently visited him in Tennessee and we had a great time playing video games. I currently live in Illinois, and due to the location, I have no veterans in the community. Therefore, I'm looking for a way to connect.

Being able to stay connected with those old battle buddies from a Veteran's Military service means more than most realize. Veterans who went through similar events connect better with one another and are ablet to support in a way that doesn't quite happen with anyone else. It sounds like in Erik's case, a new game console will help him continue gaming with his friend and having a great time.

Brian,
I received the package yesterday. Thank you and to your team. You all are doing great things.
Please see picture attached.
I’m so thankful for the crate. This will allow me to connect with my brothers that I have living all over the country. They all have a passion for playing video games and the supply crate will allow me to further connect with them. I miss each and every one of them dearly and this will fill the void during the times we are unable time meet face-to-face. Many thanks to BlueWanderer748 for the generous donation and supporting veterans. To the Stack Up team, thank you for supporting our veterans and working tirelessly to ensure they are

You are very welcome, Erik. Game on!
