Cyril's wife, who is also an Air Force Veteran, nominated him for a Supply Crate as she wanted to get him an updated console that can handle modern games and allow him to play online with his friends.

I am writing to submit my husband for a crate. We are both air force veterans. My husband suffered a traumatic brain injury in the service just 1 week after we were married. This Thanksgiving is our 12 yr anniversary. Due to his injury he was discharged from service and became unemployment. I supported him until he was able to file a disability claim. His tbi caused him to suffer from anxiety, depression, cluster headaches, fibromyalgia, drastic personality changes, and a host of other conditions as a result of the tbi. He couldn't drive for yrs and this made it difficult for him to leave the house and make friends and he was very isolated because I was still in the service and didn't have much free time. I had an old Xbox 360 from before we met that I gave him and bought him games for and he loved it. He played a lot online but then something went wrong with an update and the console was bricked. I tried to get a replacement at the thrift store but it doesn't connect to the internet. This made making and keeping online game friends really hard for him. He has tried pc gaming in the past but we could never afford the best setup so his pc isn't able to run certain games. We recently moved back to Minnesota where I have family after I finished my time in the service but it is a rural area and he has been having a hard time getting out to meet locals. I encouragess him to join a local veteran guard but everyone else is significanctly older and doesnt play games. He still loves gaming and despite the technical limitations tries to talk to his friends online while he plays. I think he would really benefit from a new set up where he could play some newer games online with his friends and maybe make some new ones, not just talk to them on speaker phone while he plays offline. I recently had to sink a lot of money into home repairs for the house we moved into and haven't been able to find new work in the area yet so I can't afford to buy him anything myself. I saw this place and thought it couldn't hurt to ask. It would be amazing if he could have something nice like this.
Xbox 360? Now that's pretty old. Also, while PCs are great, there is often the problem where they require constant maintenance, lots of PC knowledge, updating and upgrading, and games often have requirements that a basic PC doesn't meet. Which is why having a console dedicated to entertainment and gaming comes in handy.
Omg, thank you so much for the supply crate! I signed my husband up for one months ago but never thought we would actually get one. We never won a contest or a thing before. He loved it. Can't wait to get it set up and play some games!
Free stuff feels nice. Free stuff because you dedicated yourself to serve? Even better.
