Army Veteran Brandon reached out to Stack Up about receiving a Supply Crate because he's been having a tough time with being isolated after developing PTSD after his service.

I used to play a lot of nintendo 64 and Playstation 1 growing up. I stopped playing video games till we deployed. While deployed in 2011 to FOB Todd Afghanistan, my bunkmate martin had an xbox and playstation and it was a great relief of stress when we were not on mission being attacked by IED's. I was a medic with a route clearance company so we handled a lot of roadside IED's. When leaving for r and r, I stayed in kandahar for a few days playing call of duty zombies. It was a nice way to get my head out of that space until they played the incoming alert to head to a bunker. Now I find myself staying home all the time avoiding people and whats going on out there. At the va, I have heard of vets playing in esports to help with their ptsd and just wanted a way that could help with what goes on in my head. ---I am writing this at 344 am cause I can't sleep. I got out in 2017 and still struggle at jobs. Just not sure what I'm doing since getting out. I'm not sure what else to say but feel this might help just everything cost so much now. Thank you for the consideration.

We love hearing about how gaming helped a Veteran during their service. As Brandon mentioned, however, newer consoles are getting more expensive, especially when a Veteran is already struggling to work due to their mental health. Which is where we come in: We sent Brandon a new PlayStation 5 so he can get back to gaming and hopefully find some comfort and make some friends through games.

Brandon received the Supply Crate and sent a photo reply instead of a message. Thank you for getting back to us after receiving a Supply Crate.

i_r_rhino sponsored Brandon's Supply Crate. i_r_rhino is a Marine Corps Veteran who streams between working full-time and getting his doctorate. You can see him play games like Path of Exile, Marvel Rivals, and Battlefield 6 on Twitch.

It's now 2025! Which means we have rolled over our Tiltify campaign for the year. If you want to help Stack Up meet our fundraising goals so we can continue to help Veterans like Brandon especially as console prices rise, hit the button below to get started.
