Stack-Up Launches Their Holiday Campaign, #HomeForHolidays

Pittsburg, PA ”“ December 14, 2015 –

The holiday season can be a difficult time for many military families.  Loved ones missing from the celebrations because they are deployed to another country leaves an emptiness in the hearts of the families involved.  Stack-Up is familiar with the loneliness associated with a deployment during the holidays and is launching a campaign, #HomeForHolidays, to help bring troops a little closer to home through gaming.

Many veterans understand the importance of distractions or “normalcy” found in a war zone.  One way troops pass the time is through gaming be it board, card, or video games with the latter being the focus of Stack-Up.  Games played online are a great way to bridge the gap to loved ones.  A father being able to join his children in a fantasy online world.  A sister battling her siblings in a first person shooter.  Veterans taking on their deployed comrades in a war time strategy game.  All of these are ways video games are used to help troops and their families through the struggling time of a deployment.

Our mission is to bring soldiers closer to loved ones by supplying redeemable game codes that can be gifted to family members, spouses, or fellow veterans.  The base of this campaign is to help bring a fun, enjoyable experience during the season for those deployed overseas that can be shared with others important to them.  Packages are lost or often late in arriving either to the base or back home to the states.  However, game codes are digital thus making them an almost instant gift to be given.  Stack-Up is working with several AAA title teams and a plethora of Indie developers to make this campaign thrive and work smoothly.

We can also use your help for this event be a success.  Stack-Up is accepting donations of video game consoles, physical games, as well as monetary donations.  If you would like to help the troops this holiday season, you can find more information on Stack-Up and our Home for Holidays event here.
