From the Queens Stack

On June 9, the Queens Stack went to the Adelson Galleries ion midtown Manhattan to see the exhibit, “Animals and Friends in Pencils, Books, and Bullets.” The exhibit, by Colombian artist, Federico Uribe, features pictures and sculptures made out of broken pencils, cut up books and spent bullet casings.

Ethan Whinston particularly liked a wall-mounted leopard and the army turtle with a World War II Swedish helmet for a shell. Marc noted the piece, “Piano Man” (a large face made out of piano keys), and said it should have been made to look like Billy Joel.

The exhibit has been extended two more weeks, and anyone in the New York area can get more information from http://www.adelsongalleries.com/
