Timothy is an Army Veteran who has been struggling with his PTSD. He requested a Supply Crate because he hasn't been able to replace his console due to strained finances.

Hello, my name is Timothy (Tim). I am a veteran who struggles daily with PTSD as a result of my time in service. One of the ways I have learned to manage my symptoms and clear my mind is through gaming. Video games have been an essential outlet for me, providing a safe space where I can decompress and focus on something positive.------Unfortunately, my gaming console recently stopped working, and I am unable to replace it due to financial constraints. I am part of a single-income household, as I’ve chosen to prioritize my family’s needs. My wife is a stay-at-home mom who homeschools our children, something that has always been her dream, and I want to support that dream. This additionally allows her to be at home to take care of our son whom struggles with some medical issues. ------While I don’t regret these choices, they do make it difficult to afford non-essential purchases, like a replacement gaming console. However, gaming has always been a crucial part of my mental health routine, and losing access to it has made managing my PTSD more difficult.------I am reaching out to apply for a gaming console through Stack Up, as it would help me regain this important outlet. Gaming isn’t just a hobby for me—it’s a way to maintain my mental well-being and be the best version of myself for my family.------Thank you for considering my application and for the work you do to support veterans like me.

Prioritizing family needs comes up for a lot of Veterans. When the budget is tight, it can be difficult to justify buying a new console when other needs must be met, and consoles are only getting more expensive. Which is where we come in. Donors fundraise and sponsor Supply Crates and we take these requests and send a new console to Veterans like Timothy.

We hope the console will help him keep his mental health up and even enjoy some gaming with his family.

This new gear will enhance that therapeutic experience, giving me more reliable tools for self-care and maintaining a healthier routine. The positive impact on my mental health cannot be overstated.

​2. Building a Safe Community Stream

​Secondly, this supply crate is a vital component in realizing a long-term goal of mine: starting a live stream dedicated to creating a safe and supportive community for other veterans and individuals dealing with PTSD.

​My vision is to create a judgment-free space where people can:

​Connect with others who understand their struggles.

​Share experiences and coping strategies in a supportive environment.

​Find distraction and camaraderie through gaming.

​The equipment will allow me to set up a stream of a quality that can attract and sustain a healthy community. By sharing my own journey and creating this platform, I hope to turn a personal challenge into a resource for collective healing.
