Supply Crate – Kristopher

Writer's picture: Stack UpStack Up

Marine Veteran Kristopher requested a Supply Crate so he could continue to game with his buddies on a newer console.

I am a marine veteran that served from 2006-2010 with 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion as an LAV Crewman. I deployed twice to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007 and 2008/9. Upon separating from the military I was diagnosed with PTSD, bilateral knee injuries, tinnitus, and back injury with a 70% service connected disability rating. Since separating from the military I had a difficult time adjusting to civilian life and have struggled connecting with others that are like minded and understand what I experienced in the marines and on combat deployments. I have found a release through gaming where I can still connect with some of my brothers that I served with over the years, however my xbox one console has become severely outdated and doesn't have the storage capacity or speed it once had since a lot of the gaming software has switched to digital download and cloud based gameplay. A up to date gaming console and equipment isn't in the financial budget at this time as the cost of living has gone up drastically and my wife and I are just doing what we can each month to provide for our kids and make sure they have everything they need. I would be forever grateful and blessed if I was picked as a recipient of a gaming system as I would still be able to enjoy gaming with my brothers that I served alongside on an up to date platform with appropriate performance output that the current generation of games and software requires.

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles still play pretty well but they're going the way of the retro consoles. Newer games are getting bigger in scope and especially big on data size so having a console that can handle them matter for gamers. We packed up a Supply Crate and sent it out to Kristopher so he could get back to gaming.

thank you so much!

Thank you, Kristopher for reaching out.
