Supply Crate – Jersun

Air Force Veteran, Jersun requested a Supply Crate as gaming has long been a source of comfort for himself.

I'm a US Air Force Veteran, who has served in South Korea, North Dakota and Arkansas for primary duty stations during my tenure. I had many lifechanging experiences during that period and as such the largest of those was my time in Korea and being abroad. While abroad, I took up gaming and partying in the nightlife of the downtown district of Songtan and other locations throughout the RoK. It was also during this time that I found my call to gaming. I enjoyed getting online for a nice online game with other players all around the world in Halo and even COD. This is when I realized that this is bigger that it looks. I at that time realized that this was not just a way for me to escape the stressors of daily military life, but also it gave me an avenue to connect with others around the world that were more like me. Not only this but this impact also played a major affect on me, as it allowed me to maintain my communications with my home friends and family and it allowed me to also push aside some of the Culture Shocks that came with being abroad. Because of gaming, I was able to successfully keep my peace of mind during my 2 year stint in Korea. I would venture to say that many others like me would say the same. As such, I hope that if you don't send myself a crate, that I hope you def take care of some of our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and even Coast Guard troops abroad. They may also discover an avenue of mental escape, similar to me. One thing I can honestly say about gaming is that it helped me avoid more of the thoughts that could have and may have even lead to the large number of Suicides that were in the news at the time. This is my reasoning for believing in your cause and I also think this applies to Veterans that have since transitioned out of the military as well. Please, Please, Please, take these factors into STRONG consideration when making your decision to send out supply crates. This is more than a cause, it's literally a MISSION! :) Cheers!
