Supply Crate – Erika

Air Force Veteran Erika requested a Supply Crate so that she could bond with her children and take her mind off of the injuries and trauma her Military service left her with.

I am an Air Force Veteran that served Honorably for over 12 years-2 careers, many training courses, various proud achievements and several deployments. There were various highlights to my enlistment but the hardest yet most rewarding was my deployment to Afghanistan as a Combat Medic attached to the Army. We faced danger every time we were outside the wire on our convoys. Every moment, every minute we had our eyes wide open ready for the unexpected. Unfortunately, on one of our convoys we lost 2 of my friends to an IED which was difficult to accept. That deployment resulted in receiving the Air Force Combat Action Medal along with different medical issues that I now face daily. As a full time parent, I would like to be considered for one of your supply crates not only to help me take my mind off of my medical conditions but also to bond with my children in a different way. Thank you

One of the hardest parts about service is surviving something when our friends didn't. The loss lives with us along with the injuries and other traumas that happen as a result. While a new console may not cure anything, it can at least allow Erika a reprieve.
