Brian served in the Army and requested a Supply Crate after his Xbox died on him. He's been needing an outlet that helps him cope with his PTSD.

Hello my name is Brian Hartley i am an Army Veteran and am 100% service connected through the VA. I served honorably until I was injured in a training accident that messed my back up to the point that I started having trouble walking. With a few years of physical therapy I started having no problems walking again. The pain however has never went away and it has been a constant issue. When I began to start getting evaluated by the VA I was also diagnosed with PTSD at a rating of 100% just on that plus all the other injuries consistent with being an infantryman (lol). As time has gone on I have found it hard to get a job or when I do to keep it. This has caused consistent financial issues, which brings me to this. Recently my Xbox decided to go out and become unfixable. This was about a year ago. Games where the one thing that always occupied my mind enough for me to have some peace. Myself and the people around me have noticed a more depressed, scared, and angry version of myself coming back out. I’m tired of feeling like I do all the time and just want something to occupy my mind again. If you could help that would be great and if not I completely understand that there are vets more deserving and that probably would need it more than me. Thank you for your time

When people ask us "why video games?" for supporting Veterans, Brian is the perfect example of why. We've seen for ourselves how having access to video games can make a difference for Veterans like Brian's mental health. Through gaming, Brian can cope with his PTSD, outlet those intense emotions that are a struggle to deal with, and cope with any other injuries that may bother him after his service. Gaming has plenty of benefits that can help with mitigating the struggles our Veterans deal with.

Good afternoon. I just got my crate and this was more than I could have asked for or deserve. I just want to say thank you guys. This is going to have a tremendous impact on my mental wellbeing by allowing me to get out of my head and just have a little fun, even if it’s only a couple hours a day. I also plan on reaching out directly to the sponsor to thank them and let them know what it means to me. I have sent pictures to the email address included in the package but am adding one here as well. Again thank you guys for all you do.

Thank you Brian! We're just glad we could help and so is your sponsor.

Brian's Supply Crate was sponsored by Lord_Zath. Lord_Zath joined us for our Call to Arms X LIVE event as one of our 10th Birthday Celebration event guests. He was awesome to have out and we had a really great time fundraising with him and celebrating. Check out his World of Warships streams on Twitch.
