Always looking for adventure and excitement, our Queens Stack headed out to a local Comic Convention for a Stack event and a fantastic day of geekdom! Read on to hear the details of their journey.
The inaugural Fort Hamilton Comic Con, held in historic Fort Hamilton, in Brooklyn, NY, seemed like the perfect venue for a Stack event. While it was open to the public, it was largely held for the military men and women of the fort. And so, six members of the Queens Stack ventured down for the all-day event to have some fun and spread the word about Stack-Up.
Among the activities was a workshop for aspiring Jedis in lightsaber fighting. Stack members Asher Whinston and Nolan Hidaka participated, the latter making quick work of vanquishing his foe. Other activities included a mystery room. Blair Cohen, spent time in that, along with Ethan, Sharon and Asher Whinston and Nolan Hidaka.
While they were doing that, Marc Whinston was taking in a screening of the classic movie, “The Warriors.” That was followed by a Q&A with David Harris, who had played Cochise. Earlier, there was a screening of “The Toxic Avenger,” followed by a Q&A with Dan Snow who had portrayed Cigar Face. In addition to these events and numerous vendors, there were several sponsored speakers.
Afterward, a bite at nearby BurgerFi was the perfect capper. We look forward to next year’s Con.
Way to let your geek flag fly out there in Queens folks. Plus the Jedi Training looks like some good cardio! Way to Stack Up!
