Solasta: The Land Shaped By Chaos
Ah, the magical and unluckiest land to ever have to set forth in a campaign of world-saving proportions, Solasta! Solasta 2 brings back the lore-soaked environment, but in a different twist. Moving away from the Badlands of Aer-Elai to the far-off and seemingly corrupt continent of Neokos makes you feel like you are starting a fresh Dungeons & Dragons campaign built from everything your forever DM has learned across your past campaigns.
This game is one of the most accurate 5e representations in video games, hands down, that I have ever experienced. And I have spent thousands of hours in CRPGs. Readying actions, having and using spell components, and the reaction system, it’s all there. But don’t worry, there won’t be any arguing with a dungeon master for twenty minutes about line of sight!

Your Party Actually Feels Like a Family!
This time around, you still create your own party, but now they have a real connection. Not a “you meet in a tavern” vibe that a lot of campaigns tend to lean into. You start as orphans turned family, reunited by tragedy, a diverse group that you get to create in whatever image and class you like! It was very easy for me to spend an hour plus not only designing the looks, which I did because of who I am as a person, but the D&D accurate classes make you really think, “what would make this group work better together?”
The action after character creation does not take long to come into play. After a brief tutorial that starts to shape the family dynamic and gives brief glimpses into the backstories you chose to shape each of the individual characters. The sky breaks loose, and you find yourself in that turn-based bliss that many generations of gamers, video and tabletop alike, have come to love!
“Hey there, folks! Thank you for enjoying Solasta. It's always very heart-warming to see people having fun with our game. I hope your journey in Neokos will be filled with memorable moments. Don't hesitate to share those with us and to let us know if you have any issues or interesting ideas! “— Tactical Myzzrym, Developer
Tactical Adventures, True To The Name!
If Solasta: Crown of the Magister is any indication of how Tactical Adventures Studios is planning to run the road map for Solasta 2, the content added will be simply amazing. With a prior history of adding not only maps, stories, races, and classes to the mix, Tactical Adventures had their very own “If you think you can do it better...prove it” mindset with the ability to create your own adventures and share them with the world, which I hope they bring to this installment!
Solasta 2 is currently only available on PC, but the team has hopes to extend its reach to consoles after the 1.0 update that they are building towards. Crown of the Magister followed this path as well, releasing in May 2021 on PC and then followed to Xbox One and Series X|S in July 2022, with PlayStation launching in March of 2024. So my hopes are high that the console family will get to experience the story and adventure around Neokos in the future!
SOLASTA 2 IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
