Five Exciting Trailers from NYCC 2026
New York City Comic Con celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Taking place at the world-famous Javits Center, New York Comic Con was the epic center of the pop culture world for a little bit. From movies to comics to games, there was something for everyone to enjoy, from the big booths of the expo hall to the grand Empire Stage.
New York Comic Con may not be the star-studded, earth-shattering experience of San Diego Comic-Con, but it still drew special appearances from various actors and big announcements from the movie and anime space. Here is a collection of trailers that debuted during the event.
Godzilla Minus Zero
The king of the monsters had a special trailer debut around the time of New York Comic Con. Seth Green hosted a special behind-the-scenes look at Godzilla Minus Zero, the highly anticipated sequel to Godzilla Minus One. The panel featured producer Kazuaki Kishida, visual effects artist Tatsuji Nojima, foley artist Natsuko Inoue, and sound mixer Hisafumi Takeuchi. The team went through the elaborate behind-the-scenes magic of what makes this movie so grand and epic. The first movie won an Academy Award for its stunning visual effects.
Set two years after the end of Godzilla Minus One, Japan struggles to find normalcy following not just the devastation of World War II but the havoc brought upon by Godzilla. Just as peace and a future are found, a new, more devastating threat emerges that could threaten Japan and the world. While Godzilla sits at the bottom of the Bay, he must return to be the hero. Godzilla launches in IMAX November 3rd, and everywhere November 6th.
Blade Runner 2099
The Final trailer for Amazon Prime’s Blade Runner 2049 during the Blade Runner 2049 panel at the Empire Stage. Co-stars Hunter Schaefer and Michelle Yeoh, along with the ensemble cast, talked about their experiences working on the set and continuing the legacy of Blade Runner. Following two movies and the anime Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Blade Runner 2099 is a miniseries set 50 years after the events of Blade Runner 2049 and launches on Prime November 25th, 2026.
In 2099, the humans lost, and replicants now rule. In a world where humans are no longer second-class citizens under the replicants, secrets run rampant. One secret in particular can change everything and tear the city of Los Angeles apart. Cora (Hunter Schaefer) poses as a Blade Runner and pairs with Olwen (Michelle Yeoh, a replicant nearing the end of her life. Together they track down a band of rogue replicants and perhaps uncover a life-changing truth.
The Exorcist: Martyrs
At a full panel at NYCC, Blumhouse released its slate of upcoming films with a stacked panel featuring A stacked cast of actors from Kristen Bell to Chiwetel Ejiofor. An entire slate of movies was announced, but one that caught my eye was The Exorcist: Martyr, the newest installment in the long-running horror franchise. A new trailer was revealed with the movie’s announcement and a release date of March 12th, 2027.
Starring Scarlett Johansson in the lead, the synopsis is chilling. A rookie determined to establish herself finds herself confronting a dark secret that is set to shatter everything she knows about right and wrong. The Exorcist: Martyr is set to be a soft reboot and continuation of The Exorcist films, of which there are 7, including Martyr. As the film has contended with the horrors of religious themes, expect this one to send cold down your spine.

The RG Project featured the continued presence of Gundam XARAX- ZERO, coming in April 2027, and the demo for the upcoming mech-action game, Gundam Rogue Orbit, releasing on March 4th, 2027. Among these were several Gundam-themed panels and the trailer for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, the prequel movie to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM. The great war is over, and peace has seemingly come at last.
