the stacks celebrating summer in houston

This past weekend saw us here at Stack-Up.Org invade Seattle and the PAX West convention floor in force. The Red Shirt Raiders certainly got their game on as we helped our Air Assaults for the trip have a great time. However, the action going down in Seattle wasn’t the only place the Red Shirts stacked up over the weekend.

Our Houston Stack celebrated the end of summer with an amazing BBQ! Houston Stack Lead John Parkhurst took the time to write about the event and share it with us!

The Houston stack gathered together for an end of summer potluck picnic/bbq. We were initially concerned about being able to secure a spot at the park, what with it being Labor Day weekend and all. However, when we arrived we found the picnic area more deserted than Silent Hill and we found a great shaded area to set up.

Despite all our sacrifices to the elder gods our shade would not last. This began our pilgrimage to a new superior location to claim in the name of Stack-Up. We quickly discovered that the new area already had residents in the form of fire ants. Quickly we made a peace offering and shared our meal with the natives. This appeased them and we were able to enjoy our feast.

Saturday turned out to be a great day to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Can’t wait to get these guys together again for another event.
