A Simple, Fast, Addictive Card Game That Keeps You Coming Back
Ever have a family game night, and no one can decide what to play, or the games that you have are a bit outdated and have gotten boring over the years? Have you wished that you could find a quick and easy game to play with any age group that will be fun and has little strategy, leaving most of the game up to chance?
Look no further than Flip 7 by Op Games!
Flip 7 is a game that’s quick to learn, endlessly replayable, and packed with “just one more round” energy. It’s the kind of game that thrives in any setting, be it family gatherings, game nights with friends, or even a quick session as a filler between games. Simple on the surface but surprisingly strategic underneath, Flip 7 hits that sweet spot between luck and decision-making that keeps everyone engaged.
How to Play
At its core, Flip 7 is all about pressing your luck while trying to outscore your opponents. But there are a few strategies you will find later in the article that can help win the game, though the strategies do not always work!
The main objective of each round is to make as many points as possible. One way to do this is to deal 7 numbered cards to a single player; that player will immediately win the round and get an extra 15 points! But beware: if a player is dealt a duplicate card, their round ends and they get no points for that round!
To start each round, choose a Dealer who deals each player a single card, face up in front of the players. All players are trying to get as many cards as possible during the round, but here’s the twist: if you flip a duplicate number, you bust and lose all points for that round. At any point, you can choose to stop flipping and “bank” your points safely. If an Action Card is dealt, it must be resolved IMMEDIATELY.
Action Cards include:
Freeze - The player may stop another player from gaining any more cards for the rest of the round.
Flip Three - The player forces another player to gain three more cards.
Second Chance - The player may use the Second Chance when a duplicate card is dealt to them to remove the duplicated card from their pile.

There are "Modifier" cards that players will encounter, which are just adding to that player's total for the round. The cards are +2, +4, +6, +8, +10, and x2. The Modifier cards add more points for the round, but do not count towards the 7 cards needed for the bonus points.
The round continues until all players have either banked or busted. Play continues across multiple rounds until someone reaches the target score (often 200).
What makes Flip 7 especially fun is the tension between greed and caution. Do you risk one more flip to build a massive lead, or play it safe and lock in a modest score? Do you give yourself that Flip Three, or do you play it against your opponent, hoping to bust them out for the round?

Simple Strategies I Learned While Playing
While luck plays a role, there’s definitely room for smart decision-making:
Know When to Walk Away: It’s tempting to chase big scores, but consistent small wins can often beat one risky bust. If you’ve built a decent total, don’t get greedy.
Watch What’s Been Flipped: Pay attention to the cards already revealed. If certain numbers are showing up frequently, your risk of busting increases.
Play the Players: If someone else is far ahead, you may need to take bigger risks to catch up. Conversely, if you’re leading, play more conservatively.
Momentum Matters: Sometimes riding a hot streak works, but don’t let excitement override smart choices. Stay balanced.
