Army Veteran Theodore requested a Supply Crate so he could share some time gaming with his children and connect with others in a way that is more comfortable for his social anxiety.

I am a veteran. I was in the Army from October 2003 to March 2012. I served as an Infantryman and was discharged at the rank of Sergeant (e-5). I was active duty and was deployed two times to Iraq. First deployment was from August 2005 to December 2006 and second deployment was from September 2008 to September 2009. I am married and we have two children. My son is almost 11 years old and my daughter is 6 years old. They both love to play video games also. I am now 100% va service connected with housebound granted due to severity of my disabilities. I have TBI, PTSD, Anxiety, IBS, depression, arthritis in back, knees and shoulders. After I was discharged from the military my family moved to Minnesota. I worked for Veteran Affairs from December 2013 to October 2018. I don’t currently work but I managed to complete a bachelors degree and most of a master degree program. I have plenty of time to play videos games and find it as a way to communicate with some people without the social anxiety. It also helps me to teach my children some problem solving skills along with many other life skills. It gives me the opportunity to destress from daily grind and gives me a chance to spend time with my children. I help other veterans when I get a chance on VA benefits or knowledge I know of the different programs and hope to be able to work serving veterans again soon.

As someone who has also struggled with social anxiety, I totally get it, Theodore. Games are a great avenue for connecting with other people in an environment where a lot of the focus is more on the mission or quest and shared camaraderie brings people together.
