Marine Corps Veteran Joshua was nominated for a Supply Crate by his wife who wanted him to have an outlet to game with other people online.
I’m submitting this for my husband. He’s been really getting into some computer gaming as a way to help with his PTSD and depression. He served 10 years in the Marines and is now 100% disabled. He’s been through a lot. For whatever reason his son from his first marriage no longer talks to him. It’s been about 5 years since he’s heard from him and he’s tried reaching out so many times. His ex wife just says leave him alone and give him time. That is a huge source of depression for him. He does his best to hide it but I can tell it bothers him. Our son together is now 9 years old and has level 3 autism. This is a huge source of stress for both of us but especially him because he is now a daddy’s boy. Which he loves, but it is 24/7. The stress on our family has taken its toll on both of us. I’ve been in and out of the Dr with medical issues that are caused by severe anxiety and stress. And this is yet another source of depression for my husband. We cannot afford a game system since we live off of his disability alone. But I really think this would be an awesome surprise for him that he would use all the time if he got chosen. Especially if he’s able to play with other people online. Thank you for this program for our vets!

Hey, we understand. Those fixed incomes are hard to live on, and buying new game consoles while prices are rising is difficult. We work hard to raise funds all year so that we can continue to support Veterans like Joshua with a gaming care package. Joshua received his new PlayStation 5 and sent us a reply:

I am beyond grateful for the generosity of Stack Up and the 7th Cavalry Regiment for this PS5 and games. I would have probably never bought one of these for myself. Raising an autistic son has come with many challenges so far. I cannot mentor him in the traditional ways that I was able to with my oldest son. I believe this gift will give my son and I a way to bond and have fun. More importantly, it will be a great medium for teaching him how to lose gracefully and other lessons that are so important for his character development. Thank you so much for this unexpected opportunity to improve my relationship with my son! Semper Fi!
We're glad we could help! Gaming is a great way to bond with family, and we hope this will help Joshua bond with his son while giving him an outlet.
