Army Veteran Jennifer reached out about receiving a Supply Crate because she's had a difficult time enjoying activities post-service due to a back injury.

I joined the Army back in 2008. I was then injured shortly after while on base. My life has been impacted due to this injury. My back injury keeps me from doing alot of physical things. I am unable to run, jump, and me active. Since not being very active I have fallen into deep depression, loss of friends, not having a normal marriage, and not having children. This is hard for me to be the person I used to be. Before the military I was very active in shooting sports, upland game hunting with my dad, being able to walk my home town with no issues. Now I can only hunt from a ground blind during deer season, I can't walk my hometown anymore, shooting sports have came to a halt since I had to have my husband lock away my guns when I sank into depression. I was being treated by the VA and I am one of the Veterans that fell through the cracks. I haven't been able to get an appointment scheduled since 2010. I keep getting passed around from department to department then voicemail but no return calls. I have been trying to battle my depression on my own with the help of my husband at times. This is hard for me since I used to be an outgoing person and now I am just a hermit. I don't like how I have just hidden myself away. I hope to make friends someday but hard for me when I don't know how too. I know my story is long maybe not as long as others. I do volunteer time to my local Legion on Monday nights helping make tacos in the kitchen. I would like to do more for my fellow brothers and sisters. But I also need to think about myself sometimes.

It really sounds like Jennifer could use some major help having something fun to enjoy that will also allow her a potential social outlet. There are some Deer Hunter games available on consoles, and she can use gaming to make some friends. We sent her a new PlayStation 5 in the hopes that she can use it on her tough days and find some community through gaming.

Thank you very much for the supply crate.

You are very welcome, Jennifer.
