Army Veteran Chentel has been struggling with her mental health since the end of her service. She requested a Supply Crate because she wanted something that would help her connect with her son in a way that would interest him and allow them a safe space to have some family quality time together.

I am a prior service Veteran who served from 1999 to 2007. I was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a pharmacy technician. I was there when the planes fly into the Pentagon and my based was then on lock down. I still think about that time because i was on call when the medi vacs would come in and also seeing so many soldiers that were burned and amputated are things that will never be erased from my memory. I'm actual not comfortable with being in DC area because so much happened. I also experienced the D.C. snipper. That time of my life was chaotic while serving in the Army. I'm currently in therapy through the VA because of my anxiety and depression to help me not lash out, especially with my son. I am currently a single mom of an eleven year old and for now its just me and him. I am the sole provider and at times i do get overwhelmed with handling everything on my own. I'm always trying to find ways to connect to him so that we can have some good quality time without any conflicts. If I were selected as a candidate this would be life changing for me and my son because I would be able to connect with him to something that he is truly interested in. I would like to thank you in advance for taking my request into consideration.

While many servicemembers work jobs that don't see direct combat, they do often see the results of it. In Chentel's case she saw plenty enough to leave its mark. We hope that by sending a new console and games to her, she'll be able to distract herself and enjoy some gaming with her son.

Thank you so much!

We hope it helps and that you both have plenty of fun together.
