Have you ever wondered what a climbing/survival trip with your friends might be like? Well there's all the more reason to stay home and not find out by simply purchasing and downloading PEAK on Steam, then playing in online co-op with your friends. Save yourself a trip full of doom and accidents battling the elements and hunger and experience it right from the comfort of your PC.
It's All Up (or Down?) from Here
Sure, plenty of us love AAA games and plenty of AAA studios have die hard fans, however, as we've come to see over the past couple of years in gaming, it's the indie viral hits that keep gamers playing. PEAK is yet another viral darling that very much earns its flowers.
The concept is simple: Play alone or grab a couple of friends to play in online co-op to climb to the peak of several different levels of mountains. As players climb they have to manage their stamina, hunger, weight, and avoid obstacles and foods found along the way that could poison their character. The real challenge in PEAK is actually making it to the top alive.
Let's Climb!
What makes PEAK's simple concept work is the potential for so many things to go wrong. Especially for new players who like to just FAFO their way through games. Those first few runs teach you how high you can fall from without dying, which foods are safe to eat, and responsible packing for the trip. While playing with friends, you learn how to work together to climb higher and higher and the game will humble you all just when you thought you would make it.
Hot tip for new players: You can cook food on a fire for added stamina at the beginning of the game and each time you reach the peak of one level then the next!
PEAK is ridiculously memeable and clipable with loads of potential for hilarious moments when playing with friends. I even turned one of our PEAK moments into a sticker in a Discord I admin. The character design adds to the hilariousness as your little climber's mouth moves as you speak, making it so that other players can see you talking when nearby. Their emoji like expressions make for some of the best faces to watch as players fall to their deaths.
Proximity chat is PEAK
Speaking of chat, PEAK's proximity chat is one of its best features. It's so much fun to call for other players as you try to find your way around obstacles and find the best path up. Players also get to hear other players' voices drifting away as they fall, creating some truly dramatic moments worthy of cinema.
Peak is best played with those friends who will make it a great time and not hate you when you inevitably fall to your death.

Excellent Gaming for a Very Low Price Point
PEAK is an incredibly simple but fun game that comes at a very low price. For a low $7.99, a group of 4 can spend a combined total of around $32 to co-op their way to the top together. It almost feels like a steal to get it at that price. Like other viral co-op games out there, the simplified graphics, concept, and low price make it an easy hit.
There's just no way I can't give this our highest rating. So with that said:
PEAK IS A MUST BUY
