Redshirt Roundtable: Snack Up

We're back with our February Redshirt Roundtable, and this time, it's all about snacks, your favorite gaming snacks! If you have ever chilled out in the Stack Up discord, you have probably noticed that we talk about food...a LOT. Whether it's over what is appropriate to put mayonnaise on, the latest argument over pizza toppings, aspic, or community members showing off what they made for dinner, our community loves talking about food.

I asked our community what suggestions they might have for Redshirt Roundtable topics and questions, and eSkilliam came up with some pretty good ones that I used for this round.

  • What are some of your favorite game night snacks?

  • What is your drink of choice to game with?

  • If you could eat a food or drink you saw in a video game, what would it be?

  • Do you have a mini-fridge or something to store your gaming snacks in? How do you store and prepare your snacks?

What are some of your favorite game night snacks?

I love making up a batch of fried shrimp. I keep BW3 sauces on hand to dip them or toss them in. You also can't go wrong with wings, but hard to game with messy hands. Pizza is always a welcome treat to have around when gaming or pizza rolls.

What is your drink of choice to game with?

I'm a big fan of Coke Zero, but I also love iced tea and the occasional GFuel energy mix. If it comes to alcohol, an ice-cold bitter IPA really hits the spot!

If you could eat a food or drink you saw in a video game, what would it be?

That's a hard one. Food is not super commonly shown in video games. I had a stack of sushi on my WoW character for a while, and I do love sushi, so that would probably be the most likely one. I always like diner scenes in games like Alan Wake, Life is Strange, etc. Diner food is always tha bomb.

Do you have a mini-fridge or something to store your gaming snacks in? How do you store and prepare your snacks?

I have a mini-fridge out in the shop I keep stocked with drinks and sometimes GFuel. I don't game so much out there, though. Many of my go-to snacks are typically frozen, so we just keep a healthy stock of my favorites in the kitchen freezer.

What are some of your favorite game night snacks?

It sounds bougie, but I love me a charcuterie board. I'll fill a plate with crackers and spreadable cheese, grapes and/or cherries, cheese cubes, jerky or deli meat, cheese slices, some cashews or other nuts, more cheese... So I guess my answer is cheese, really.

I had a nice little red mini-fridge, then I found the Xbox mini-fridge in the wild and bought it. It's amazing. I can cool my sodas and my chocolate in there. (I like my chocolate frozen, don't judge me.)
