Some of our Stack Up staff made it out to PAX East for a panel and hangouts with some of our local Boston area Veterans and streamers. Conventions have been a great way for us to connect with some of our community members in the past while taking Air Assaults out to events.
With that said, we thought it would be great to ask our community members about conventions they've been to and conventions they've always wanted to go to.

Meeting up with the SU crew and other friends, and this one time I randomly played a one-shot with the dwarven forge folks

Set a budget and stick to it lol

What is a convention you've always wanted to go to?
Any of the Starfury cons.
What is one of your favorite experiences at a convention?
At Gen Con you can sign up to play games at tables. They have plenty of free games but also paid seats. Really worth budgeting for, they're pretty fun.
Do you have any advice for others attending a convention for the first time?
Locate the quiet room first so you know where to go anytime you need a quiet space to sit. Bring a backpack/large bag for all the loot you might bring home.

What is a convention you've always wanted to go to?
I've always wanted to go to either a Futurama based convention or a Star Wars convention! Would totally be down to cosplay at both!

Lots of "National" conventions (work related and counseling related)

What is one of your favorite experiences at a convention?
Before my agoraphobia kicked in I actually spoke at a counseling national convention about "Fighting in the trenches". It was amazing connecting with others who face burnout in counseling
Do you have any advice for others attending a convention for the first time?
Don't go to the breakout groups that you normally go to. Try something different and see what comes from it. Normally we are already experts on our issues, problems or activities so veer towards those that are our second choices.
