Army Veteran Joseph received a PC Vetrofit after our Call to Arms X LIVE event after sending in his nomination to potentially get a new PC. He told us about his injuries and his struggles with gaming in his request.

I join the army right after high school, was a 21 E, heavy construction engineer. I went to airborne school, was stationed in FT Bragg NC. In 2006 we deployed to Afghanistan. After about 5 months of being a driver I decided to be a gunner on July 16, and the driver took a corner to fast and rolled the humvee over on me. I lost my left arm right below the elbow. Had some head injuries. I sent 6 months in Walter Reed then returned to Bragg. I medically retired in 2008. I learned to the my stub to play video games. But as the low frame rate on the Xbox and Playstation make my dizzy from my vertigo. I played my buddy pc and it's like a breath of fresh air, never got dizzy. It be awesome to get a pc but money tight with a family of 6 and I will alway put their need before my own. Thanks for your time.

While consoles have expanded their options for accessible controllers for injuries like Joseph's, PCs offer a ton of options to help folks game. From custom controls to apps and other customization options that can help them game. We hope with a PC he'll get to game and have plenty of comfortable fun while doing it.
