I first saw Butt Sniffin Pugs at last year’s PAX Prime. Since then I have seen them at various shows but this past RTX is the first time I had the chance to sit down and interview one of the developers of the game. I spoke with Director Gabe Telepak about various aspects of this interesting game. It has a basic premise in that you are simply a pug exploring a park. It is sandbox to the max with the game allowing you to make up your own fun.
In this day in age that in and of itself is somewhat unique, but Pugs takes it a step forward with a very interesting custom controller. It features a huge giant tennis ball that is rotated to control your in game pug, along with a Pug Butt in order to slap and interact with various objects.
The whole thing while being entirely strange is also very interesting. When speaking with Gabe he touched on some unique accessibility options that controller provides because of its oversized design.
