You may have seen earlier this year we had the opportunity to complete our first Air Assault trip to the UK. That trip was made possible with the help of our friends at Oculus, the ESL, and the Onward VR community. This past September they once again stepped up and showed their support for veterans by helping us to bring some amazing vets out to Oculus Connect 5 to experience all the show has to offer.
As one of the highlights for the event was to be the Onward VRML Championship, we turned to the Onward community to help find some veterans who are also really big fans of the game and of everything VR. Then with the help of our partners, we brought them out to San Jose as our Air Assaults for OC5 and, of course, to see their favorite game played on the big stage.
Dave Crouse, our Director of Veteran Services, had the chance to sit down with our Air Assaults and talk with them not only about the convention but to learn a bit about how gaming has helped them through their military careers and beyond. Take a moment and hit the video below to hear from these Veterans about why gaming is such a big part of their lives, and of course, to hear all about the amazing time at Oculus Connect 5!
If you’d like to make a donation that helps support our Air Assault program or if you would like to answer the Call To Arms with you own charity stream and help us make an impact during this upcoming Veterans day, hit the link below for intel on how you can sign up!
