stacking up in south amboy

Stack-Up volunteers from the Hazlet, NJ and Queens, NY Stacks went to South Amboy, NJ to help host a fundraiser for veterans and for Stack-Up.Org, called “Stack-Up South Amboy”. It was an afternoon of music, food and fun.

Mike McCabe, a member of the Chive Gaming Chapter, along with Stack-Up Eastern Regional Director Stephanie Owens hosted the event at the South Stevens Pub. The fundraisers aim was to raise visibility and awareness of Stack-Up, as well as its mission to help veterans.

There was food ranging from hamburgers & hot dogs to the South Amboy Fire Department Protection Fire Company-Engine 6 “famous” ribs. Music was provided by the New Jersey Hecktones and Jane and the Great Unknown, who graciously donated their time a musical talents for the event.

The New Jersey Hecktones.

Among the many highlights of the evening were the Middlesex County Police and Fire Pipes and Drums. They are a well-known group, celebrating America and the patriotism of armed forces and first responders. They roared in their sounds of bag pipes and Irish passion, performing tribute to America, its warriors, and those that have fallen in the line of battle at home and abroad.

We would like to thank the following people, without whom this event would not have happened:

Mike and Tara McCabe

Matt Vanleeuwen, Owner South Stevens Pub

Main Liquors of South Amboy

The NJ Hecktones

Jane and the Great Unknown

And the many donors and guests that made this event a success. We are already planning for next year’s event.
