Supply Crate – Amber
Welcome to yet another Stack Up Supply Crate Update! If you have never read one of these before, we send gaming care packages with consoles and games through our Supply Crates program to Veterans and Active Duty Servicemembers. This one comes from an Active Duty Navy Sailor who has served for 16 years, Amber. In her request for a Supply Crate, Amber told us the following:
I’ve been in the Navy for 16 years. I’ve deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom, War on Terrorism. To the Red Sea/Persian Gulf/Middle East. I’ve been recruiting for 10 years, Manning the Navy with quality sailors. I suffer from PTSD, depression, and anxiety. I don’t have a gaming console, but I like the idea that gaming helps. I’d like to try it, and see if it helps my constant thoughts that never leave me alone. I’m under constant stress all day long.
As someone who was once in the Navy, it is a very stressful job. Hopefully this Supply Crate will not only make a new gamer out of you, but help you relieve those everyday stresses after a long Navy day.
We got the crate packed up and sent out to Amber. Amber replied with some (great) pictures and the following message:
You guys are SO awesome! Thank you so much!
Thanks Amber for reaching out to us for a Supply Crate. Perhaps that grinning kid in your pictures will enjoy the console as well.
This Supply Crate went out to Amber with the help of the wonderful Pikalyn. Pikalyn spent some time doing a Call to Arms event raising enough to sponsor a few Supply Crates.
If sponsoring a Supply Crate is something you are interested in, sign up for a DonorDrive page here. If the Supply Crates program seems really cool, but no quite the thing you are interested in helping Stack Up out with, we have many other programs and volunteer opportunities available. Just tap that big red button below, and you'll navigate to our How to Help page. Have a great day, and thank you for taking the time to read about Amber.
